Asheville
and the Western
North Carolina
area is a fun place to be. The combination
of nice weather with abundant mountains,
forests, and streams provides our residents
and visitors with a wealth of recreational
opportunities. Whatever your interest,
there are outdoor recreational opportunities
in our area for everyone. What else
is there to do here? You name it,
and we have it, including fine arts
and hand crafts, world-famous architecture, beautiful
gardens, live performing arts, museums,
wildlife exhibits, restaurants, shopping,
special events and festivals. Whatever your
taste, and whatever your age, we have something
to appeal to the interest of everyone.

Unlike
some mountainous areas, reaching Asheville
is easy.
Interstate 40 runs through our region, and
connects to I-26 (which will soon be extended
to connect with I-81 at Johnson
City , Tennessee
). The Asheville
airport provides
easy flight connections to several regional
airports. Maps and other travel information

When
you are ready to begin looking for a home
in our area, you will need to decide where
you would like to live. Would you
prefer to live nearby to Asheville
's jobs, shops,
restaurants, and entertainment venues? Or
would you prefer one of our smaller outlying
communities, such as Black

or Weaverville?
